Last week we held our final Environmental club of the term. Some children planted daffodil bulbs into the wildflower bank and harvested the last few tomatoes from the poly-tunnel. Another group of children collected twigs, branches and rocks which we then piled together in the nature area to make a rustic bug hotel! The final task of the day was a competition to see how many different types of leaves we could find in our school grounds in 5 minutes – Miss Smart’s team won with an impressive 14 types! The club will resume again after February half-term, in the meantime, the teachers and children will keep an eye on our vegetable beds during lunchtimes.
